Van Gogh Alive Comes to Edinburgh March 2022

Billed as the world’s most visited immersive and multi-sensory experience, Van Gogh Alive, will exhibit in Edinburgh from 17th March -17th July 2022.

The smash-hit exhibition is a kaleidoscope of colour that ventures into the life and work of the legendary seminal Dutch artist’s world with a beautifully curated, stunningly detailed, immersive experience hosted within a spectacular 15,000 ft. purpose-built venue in Festival Square.

Van Gogh Alive has enchanted a global audience of over 8.5 million in 75 cities worldwide including its most recent sell-out runs in Greater Manchester, London and Birmingham, where it dazzled visitors in a Covid-safe environment.

State-of-the-art SENSORY4™ immersive gallery technology immaculately displays Van Gogh’s work and visitors will experience over 3,000 images from the artist that are spectacularly presented with stunning detail, including iconic works like Starry Night, Sunflowers and lesser-known paintings that were inspired by his love of Japanese woodprints.  Set to an evocative classical score that is delivered via a high-fidelity 3D sound system, this combination of sound, visuals and aromas of Provence will give visitors the sensation of walking right into his paintings as if they are living and breathing.

Other features of the exhibition include an interpretative area where visitors can learn more about Van Gogh’s life and works as well as interactive art stations where visitors can create their own art with the help of expert video tutorials. A life-sized walk-in representation of Van Gogh’s ‘Bedroom in Arles’ painting and the iconic ‘Sunflower selfie room’ – a 360° mirrored room complete with thousands of sunflowers are sure to provide an interactive wow factor too. Van Gogh’s works have been exhibited and admired for over a century – but never like this!

The much-anticipated event promises to be one of the highlights of 2022 when it opens its doors from 17 March 2022.
