Afternoon Tea at Tigerlilly’s ROKU Gin Japanese Garden

Known for its style and glamour, Tigerlilly does not disappoint with its latest feature; the ROKU Gin Japanese Garden. The tasteful and extremely realistic cherry blossom décor makes this insta-worthy indoor garden the perfect place to sit back, in sumptuous seats, and enjoy the beauty of the orient – regardless of the Scottish weather outside!

Comprising of a selection of savoury finger sandwiches, including egg mayonnaise & cress, honey roast ham, Arran mustard & tomato, along with a bite-sized caramelised red onion and goats cheese tart the first course was substantial enough. However, never one to resist a sugar fix I easily munched my way through each of the (plentiful!) sweet treats – and I’m still undecided which was my favourite; the lemon meringue tart or the unassuming strawberries & cream cupcake…..oooh that icing!

Each of the savoury bites and sweet treats are all freshly made daily and this is highly evident at first bite.

The Afternoon Tea also includes a limited-edition cocktail menu created by Joey Medrington, Bar Development Manager. His creative serves include the ’Sakura Blossom Spritz’ – Roku Gin with Cherry Blossom, Ume Plum, Yuzu & White Tea Soda topped with pink candy floss and the ‘Fuji Mountain Swizzle’ – Roku Gin with Asian Pear, Yuzu Sake and Wild Mint. Both were equally as delicious and beautifully presented.

For those who prefer fizz choices, include are Cloudy Bay Sparking wine or Veuve Clicquot Rose and of course, a great selection of local Eteaket tea is on offer. I opted for the White Peony, which was fragrant but not overpowering.

The pretty pink garden and limited-edition Afternoon tea will run until mid-June so there is still time to experience a delightful and delicious afternoon for yourself.

Prices start from £21.50 per person.
